Abstract:
Under the dual coercion of global climate change and human activities, the populated coastal zone of highly developed economy has become a highrisk area treated by ecological and environmental risks. In order to reveal the characteristics of coastal zone resilience in the study area and effectively evaluate the development history of coastal zone resilience, so as to propose targeted effectiveness management strategies for coastal zone resilience enhancement. Thus,14 coastal resilience index factors of 5 aspects, including coastal dynamics, coastal protection capacity, economic development, social development and ecological characteristics of 18 counties in the coastal area of southern Fujian are selected for this study. At the same time, the AHP-Critic method, the grey correlation TOPSIS method, the natural breakpoint method and the contribution model were used to construct a coastal zone resilience evaluation system. Results show that the central area of coastal zone in southern Fujian shows a high value of coastal zone resilience presented particularly by Xiamen counties where the value ranges from 0.517 to 0.542, and lower value is located in the southern Zhangzhou ranged from 0.482 to 0.514. It is believed that the coastal dynamics and coastal protection capacity are the main factors controlling and influencing the resilience resilienoy. The evolution of coastal zone resilience in southern Fujian has gone through three stages, namely the early stage in 1980-1990, the middle stage in 1991-2010 when the ecological environment was harmed due to rapid economic development and the recovery stage in 2011-2020 when ecological restoration and protection work was carried out. In all, there were three different temporal phase identified in the evolution of coastal resilience in Xiamen, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou characterized by different regional features and the historical economic development.
