南海中层鱼类新记录种:丹氏鸭项鳗、竖鳍柱光鱼、法氏蛇牙龙鰧

New records of three rare mesopelagic fishes, Nessorhamphus danae, Photostylus pycnopterus and Kali falx in South China Sea

  • 摘要: 在南海开展渔业资源调查时采集到项鳗科(Derichthyidae) 、平头鱼科(Alepocephalidae)和叉齿龙鰧科(Chiasmodontidae) 鱼类样本,通过对样本形态特征的鉴定,发现为南海中层鱼类的新记录属、种。其中2024年8月在南海采集的项鳗科鱼类样本,依据其形态特征,鉴定为丹氏鸭项鳗(Nessorhamphus danae);其主要鉴别特征为:吻长约为眼径的3~4倍、腹中线具深色条纹。2024年5月在南海采集的平头鱼科鱼类样本,经鉴定为竖鳍柱光鱼(Photostylus pycnopterus);其主要鉴别特征为:体散布小型具柄的发光器。2023年8月在南海采集的叉齿龙鰧科鱼类样本,经鉴定为法氏蛇牙龙鰧(Kali falx);其主要鉴别特征为:前颌骨和齿骨的内列齿均为3枚,且显著延长、獠牙状。以上3种鱼类均为中国鱼类的新记录种,其中竖鳍柱光鱼所属的柱光鱼属(Photostylus)亦为首次记录。本研究扩展了以上鱼类属和种的分布范围,增加了南海鱼类的种类多样性,也为南海中层鱼类的研究提供了基础资料。

     

    Abstract: The first recorded specimens of Derichthyidae, Alepocephalidae, and Chiasmodontidae in the South China Sea were collected during a fishery survey. Morphological identification confirmed these as newly recorded genera and species of mesopelagic fishes in the South China Sea. In August 2024, a specimen of the family Derichthyidae was collected and identified as Nessorhamphus danae based on its morphological characteristics: its key diagnostic features included a snout length approximately 3−4 times the eye diameter and a dark stripe along the ventral midline. In May 2024, a specimen of the family Alepocephalidae was collected and identified as Phtostylus pycnopterus, which has a key diagnostic feature: small, stalked photophores. In August 2023, a specimen of the family Chiasmodontidae was collected and identified as Kali falx, whose key diagnostic features were that the internal row of premaxillary and dentary tooth were both three, recurved, flanged. In this work, we identified three newly recorded mesopelagic fish species: Nessorhamphus danae, Phtostylus pycnopterus and Kali falx. Additionally, the genus Phtostylus is newly recorded in the South China Sea. This study expands the known distribution ranges of these genera and species, enhances the fish diversity, and provides foundational data for further research of mesopelagic fishes in the South China Sea.
