Abstract:
This paper takes Jinjiang salt pan reclamation project as an example aiming at the project situation and regional environmental issues, analyzes and evaluates the marine ecological impacts of reclamation project using available data and the data from supplementary survey and puts forward the restoration plan corresponding ecological protection. Moreover the works in future are suggested. Firstly, the restoration should be implemented as an effective mechanism of overall protection and systematic restoration for the health of regional ecosystem. Secondly, for reclamation projects that have functioned as a relatively stable ecosystem for long term, the restoration strategy should also consider the existing ecological conditions in combination with the cost and benefit of the restoration project and make the most favorable decision for the feasibilities of restoration plan. Thirdly, the ecological restoration model should base mainly on natural restoration with supplemented artificial efforts in order to fully regain the ecosystem functions. This study can be taken as a reference for other similar ecological protection and restoration works.
