Abstract:
The three-dimensional (3D) temperature field is one of the most important data in oceanographic research and offshore ocean engineering. A new method to estimate the monthly-mean 3D temperature field used sea surface temperature (
SST) and dynamic sea surface height (
SSH) is proposed in this paper. The method is employed to determine the 0-1 000 m 3D temperature field in the West Pacific Ocean. Compared with Argo-based monthly-mean temperature field, the result shows that the method is effective.
